If you are involved in NASCAR racing, IMSA, World Challenge, Trans-Am, Short Track Stock Car Racing or Vintage Racing you may have met some of our folks at the track.
Pro-System’s background is very diverse within our 100% racing heritage. Everyone at Pro-System that you will come into contact with has a long history in professional racing and may years focusing on brake systems for race cars.
To summarize our company is to talk about people. Most of us have been together for almost 20 years making brakes work better for racers. Our group has seen a lot and we continue to learn.
As an introduction, in alphabetical order, here are our folks who you will see at the track, who interact with customers and who you will possibly talk to on the phone. All have a deep understanding of racing and brake systems and a long history of problem solving in our field.
Dennis started in racing as a young man with his friend Dale Earnhardt before later joining Hendricks Motorsports and then Penske Racing on the Cup programs. Dennis has been at Pro-System for 20 years. He has a very strong understanding of brakes and vehicle dynamics relating to brakes. Dennis’s focus is on NASCAR’s top three series and Sport Car brakes.
John also has been involved in racing most of his life having grown up around the sport. After helping local racers while in grade school and high school John worked as a crew chief on Jay Hedgecock’s NASCAR Modified team before moving to a long association with Richard Petty Motorsports working on the famous 43 team and running the shop and then on to 6 years as a Brembo employee in technical sales and problem solving. John has been at Pro-System for several years and prior to that we have worked with him for many years at Petty’s and Brembo. John’s focus is on Sports Cars.
Another member of the team who started building and driving race cars and being around professional racing at a very young age leading to track championships as a driver at several tracks in Florida and NC. Doug started going to races as a young boy with his father who was crew chief for Curtis Turner. Doug has been with Pro-System for over 20 years. He has a very deep understanding of brake systems and the components of a high performance system. Doug’s focus is on NASCAR’s three top series, Sports Cars and Brake Pad and Rotor Bedding.
Chris also grew up around racing as his father raced in the Trans-Am series in the 60’s and IMSA in the early 70’s. That team, Miller and Norburn, won championships in IMSA RS for BMW which is very similar to today’s ST & GS classes and similar classes in World Challenge. Chris has an extensive background in testing brake friction material, brake rotors, calipers, seals and the other components making up a brake system. Chris is available to discuss Dynamometer Testing, Bedding and Brake Pad applications.
Ashley has been involved in racing since 1971 and lists 5 championships in IMSA GTP, GTU and RS road racing with Nissan and Mazda and BMW dating back to 1975 and up to the early 90’s as a crew chief and fabricator/mechanic. Ashley along with Chris and Helen Miller formed Pro-System in 1994 to concentrate on brakes and the testing and development of brake components. Ashley is also available to discuss Sport Car brakes and Dyno Testing.
Trent has been involved in motorsports for over 30 years. He served as a marketing manager in 1987 for Metrolina Speedway in Charlotte NC. In 1988 he moved to Indiana to work for American Fabricating Co. (AFCO) where he worked with many short track teams and chassis builders across the country. In 1990 he moved back to Charlotte to work for Butlerbuilt Motorsports, a manufacturer of custom built race seats, oil tanks and fueling products. Trent made a move to Performance Friction Corporation in 1994 which was the start of his career exclusively in motorsport brakes. After 2 years at PFC Trent joined Essex Parts Services and continued his involvement in the motorsport brake industry working primarily with Nascar Cup, Xfinity and truck series teams for over 20 years. He joins Pro-System in 2016 to continue servicing the top motorsports teams in sales and technical support.
In our shop and office are our engineers Alan Musselman and Riccardo Di Silvestro, Helen Miller, one of the owners of Pro-System, most likely will answer your phone call and handle logistics, Parts Manager Doug Sigmon, Dyno Technicians Bill Witlow and Dick Jackson, Tim Mooney who manages caliper rebuilds and other service jobs, CNC machine operator Kyle Ammon. If you receive local delivers from us then you will know Parks Mullis and Wes Hopkins (yes, we deliver every day to our local customers – so if you move your team to the Mooresville / Concord area of NC we can give you even better service!).
